Partial Hospitalization Chemical Dependency
Program
Parkwood's Partial Hospitalization Program for the chemically
dependent person is designed for the person who needs more structure
than occasional counseling or a typical outpatient program but less
structure than residential. This could be a person who is stepping
down from being detoxed. It could be a person who has tried just
going to some counseling or has tried handling the problem on their
own, but their solution isn't working.
It could also be the person that has been working
with a counselor, therapist or health care provider and one of these
professionals thinks the person needs more structure. They then
provide a referral to the Parkwood Chemical Dependency Partial
Program.
The hours of the Chemical Dependency Program are from
8:00AM-9:00PM Monday through Friday and from 1:00PM - 9:00PM on
Saturday and Sunday. This schedule can also flex to let someone be
able to come into the program at 8:00AM and leave by 2:30PM on
Monday through Friday if they are going to a job.
Treatment includes group therapy, family therapy,
individual therapy, and linkage to the AA or NA 12 step support
groups.
The program has campus apartments if the patient
needs somewhere to live while attending treatment due to distance
issues from Parkwood. Anyone who lives in the campus apartment will
also have food, transportation to and from treatment, and AA or NA,
and utilities provided.
Program Mission and Philosophy
The mission of The Chemical Partial Program at
Parkwood is to provide an excellent treatment that is evidence
based, individualized, based on the 12-step recovery process, and
the philosophy that addiction is a disease. The Chemical Dependency
Partial Program will help assist each patient in constructing a life
that is physically, emotionally, spiritually, and vocationally
healthy. This is addressed directly and through the referral
process.
Program Description
In The Chemical Dependency Partial Program each
patient is evaluated and has an initial assessment. Then an
individualized treatment plan is developed which identifies the
patient's areas of needs, goals, strengths and problems to be
addressed.
Each patient will receive professional care from a
psychiatrist who will staff their case and see the patient when the
psychiatrist makes rounds at the hospital. Each patient will also
have an individual licensed therapist that is responsible for his or
her therapy.
The Needs Assessment and Referral Center is available
24 hours a day, seven days a week to respond promptly to calls or
walk-in inquiries. For more information call 1-800-477-3422.
