Parkwood BHS of Olive Branch, MS is celebrating 20 Years – Making a Difference. We are devoted to providing award winning care and treatment of children, adolescents, and adults with psychiatric and substance abuse issues. We are located 30 minutes from downtown Memphis and 20 minutes from East Memphis.

Current Open Positions

Medical Records Coder- Codes and abstracts hospital medical records for maintenance of disease indices, compliance with federal, state and other regulatory agencies, and reimbursement. Uses various coding manuals such as ICD-9CM and DSM-IV. Maintains monthly and annual statistical reports/files. Abstracts information from the medical record into MS-400 computer system. This individual is responsible for processing all internal and external reports needing filing in the records, retrieval of permanent records, file new records and re-file continuing records, process transcribed reports, process release of information request utilizing JCAHO, HIPAA, Title XXII and Federal regulatory bodies. Safeguards and preserves the confidentiality of patient identifiable information in accordance with hospital and department policy. Promotes a positive working environment and guest relations, assumes and/or performs additional duties as requested by the director. Must have a high school diploma or the equivalent; (2) years of college preferred. Prefer one year in Health Information Management Department, Psychiatric setting preferred. Has knowledge of medical terminology, skilled in the use of ICD-9 and DSM-IV. CCA, CCS or RHIT administered by AHIMA and/or CPC, CPC-H or CPC-P administered by AAPC required. PRN to FT possible.

 

Director of Recreation Therapy - The Recreation Therapy director supervises and manages the Recreation Therapy department, assesses patient's leisure and recreational development needs, providing age and developmentally appropriate therapy groups and establishing behavioral treatment goals. Knowledge of individual, group and family therapy theory and practice, group leadership skills, age specific growth and development and crisis and behavior management required. One year prior psychiatric experience preferred. Bachelor Degree in Recreation Therapy, or other human services field and CTRS required.

 

RN/Charge Nurse - The Registered Nurse prescribes, coordinates and delegates nursing care in a multidisciplinary treatment team setting.  Licensure and registration by the Mississippi Board of Nursing as a registered nurse, or multi-state license as approved by NCSBN required. One year prior psychiatric experience in mental health nursing, and BSN preferred. Full-time (3p-11p) and PRN positions available.

 

Outreach Assessor for the Cleveland/Grenada, MS area provides telephone and walk-in risk assessment and crisis intervention, initial/on-going contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinates the referral and intake process, determines appropriate level of care, facilitates the admission process. This position requires a Master’s Degree in a behavior health field and willingness to travel. Three to five years of prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting is required.
