Why is an Employee Assistance Program Needed?

At one point in time, employees will present with a family, marital, stress-related, financial, legal or emotional problem serious enough to affect job performance. Untreated, the job performance of these employees, usually deteriorates. Employees have the opportunity to use the Employee Assistance Program taking a pro-active approach to promoting prevention-oriented activities and programs.


What Does the Parkwood EAP Program Offer?

Parkwood EAP is a comprehensive program designed to assist in the early identification and resolution of productivity problems associated with employees and their covered dependents who are impaired or likely to be impaired by emotional problems such as:

  • Marital or Family Relationships
  • Legal or Financial Problems
  • Chemical Dependency or Other Addictions
  • Emotional Distress
  • Loss Issues
  • Concerns About Other Family Members (i.e. aging parents, etc.)
  • Work Related Stress


How Does the Parkwood EAP Benefit Employers?


The Parkwood Employee Assistance Program will provide educational and preventative measures at the work site, which serves to stabilize the workforce, decrease absenteeism, reduce on-the-job stress and help to improve employee’s attitudes toward work. The Parkwood EAP is a mode of enhancing employee productivity and over the long term.


How Does Parkwood EAP Work for the Employer?

The Parkwood EAP will assist the company with the following steps to plan and implement an EAP program:

  • Overview of objectives and identification of needs
  • Policy and procedure guidelines
  • Lines of communication
  • Program promotion (flyers/brochures)
  • Management training
  • Employee orientations
  • Management consultation
  • Critical incident stress debriefing
  • Short-term counseling
  • Follow-up on all cases
  • Behavioral health wellness seminars
  • Quarterly program utilization reports
